How To Set Windows SMPT Server On Windows Server 2008

Sometimes it becomes very important to set SMPT server on windows server to send bulk mail. It can be applicable if you want to run a web hosting company or if you are a mail marketer. There is some free SMPT server like GMAIL, Hotmail etc.But you can send only 50 to 100 mails using these free SMPT server. For a Email marketer, it is too low. In this case, the best way to use a SMPT server is to setup your own SMPT server. It is very easy to set Windows SMPT server. Here is a tutorial to set SMPT server on Windows server 2008 R2

Windows SMPT server Setup

What you need:

  1. Windows server 2008 R2
  2. Follow the tutorial

Install windows SMPT server

Step 1: Go to Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager

Step 2: Right click on Features.Click Add Feature

 

Step 3: check SMPT server and click Next

 

Step 4: Click on Add Required Role Services

 

Step 4: In the Confirmation section,click Install

 

The installation process is complete.However,you need to configure SMPT server Now

Step 5: Click Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager 6.

Step 6: Right click on SMPT Server and Click on Properties

 

Step 7: Click on Access

 

Step 8: Click Authentication and check Anonymous access,then click on OK button

 

Step 9: Go Back to Access and click on Connection. Select Only the list below and add 127.0.0.1 as IP address.Then click OK.

You are done.Now restart your server and use your mailing software to send mail.Remember use 127.0.0.1 as SMPT server and 25 as port.
